Job summary

The University of California San Diego School of Medicine seeks an Orthopaedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department. The successful candidate will also provide care for orthopaedic surgery patients in collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• Candidate must graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant NP/PA experience; orthopaedic exposure preferred.
• Current California NP or PA licensure and national certification as NP or PA; BLS/CPR; willingness to obtain BART within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs) in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department.
• Provide direct patient care in collaboration with physicians and leadership; coordinate exams, planning and education.
• Develop and implement APP best practice models; oversee onboarding, training, scheduling and performance evaluations.
