Job summary

MUSC Health – Midlands Division is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join the Orthopedic Surgery team in Columbia, SC. The role supports clinic operations, inpatient management, and perioperative care across a regional footprint including Columbia, Elgin, and Camden.

The APP will round with surgeons, coordinate postoperative care, and educate patients and families to optimize recovery. Excellent teamwork and patient-centered care are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Provider: NP or PA with orthopedic, surgical, hospital medicine, or acute care experience preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage orthopedic inpatients in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and hospital teams.
• Conduct daily rounding, patient evaluations, admissions, consultations, and discharges.
• Assist with perioperative care coordination and postoperative management.
• Support orthopedic surgical workflows and continuity of care across inpatient services.
• Participate in patient and family education to optimize recovery and outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with nursing, rehabilitation, case management, and ancillary teams.
• Contribute to a culture centered on teamwork, efficiency, and patient-centered care.
