Job summary

MUSC Health – Midlands Division seeks a skilled Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join the Orthopedic Surgery team serving Columbia, SC and surrounding communities. This role supports clinic operations, inpatient management, surgical coordination, and postoperative follow-up across a regional footprint.

The Orthopedic Surgery APP will work with orthopedic surgeons to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participate in perioperative planning, education, and care coordination

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with orthopedic focus preferred.
• Orthopedic, surgical, hospital medicine, or acute care experience preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills.
• Compassionate, high-quality patient care commitment.

Responsibilities

• Manage orthopedic inpatients in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and hospital teams.
• Conduct daily rounding, patient evaluations, admissions, consultations, and discharges.
• Assist with perioperative care coordination and postoperative management.
• Support orthopedic surgical workflows and continuity of care across inpatient services.
• Participate in patient and family education to optimize recovery and outcomes.
• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, case management, and ancillary teams.
