Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn seeks a full-time Administrator / TH Senior Staff Associate to coordinate operations of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery with other hospital divisions.

The role oversees strategy, marketing, finance, and operations, provides administrative direction for staff, leads recruitment, develops policies, ensures compliance, manages budgets, and reports productivity to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare administration preferred.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery with other hospital divisions.
• Oversee and optimize strategy, marketing, finance, and operations for the division.
• Administer staff and services including staff assistants, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and care coordination.
• Recruitment and onboarding of division staff.
• Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with governing bodies.
• Oversee division budgets and staffing needs.
• Prepare monthly/weekly productivity and performance reports.
• Communicate with division staff and hospital leadership; liaison role.
• Support the Division Chief and Residency Program Director with GME responsibilities.
