Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide clinical evaluation and educational support in a physician extender role, with responsibilities for injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in an appropriate discipline.
• ATC certification required and NC licensure or license-eligibility within 6 months of hire.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.

Responsibilities

• Casting and patient care: cast patients, provide splints, braces, crutches, DME, patient education, prep of injections, vital signs, room stocking/cleaning.
• Disability cases: handle clinical phone calls and complete disability paperwork.
• Patient education: instruct home exercise programs and therapeutic exercise; communicate with patients and staff.
• Patient information: collect patient history, verify test results, order X-ray/labs as needed, perform history and physical with documentation.
