Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor at OrthoIndy YMCA in Indianapolis, IN 46254. The role pays $13.00 per hour and is categorized under Aquatics. You will lead safe, instructional swim lessons following YMCA safety guidelines, and work with flexible scheduling.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old, with group swim lesson experience or certifications. A swim test will assess ability to swim and tread water; license/CPR-related certifications must be obtained

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Experience leading group swim lessons preferred.
• Must pass swim test demonstrating strokes and treading water for 2 minutes.
• Demonstrates emotional maturity and judgment.
• Must obtain HCP, First Aid, Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety certifications within 90 days of employment.
• Current Swim Lesson or Water Exercise certifications (YMCA/Red Cross etc.)

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Instructor will provide safe and challenging Swim Lesson classes according the YMCA and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of age.
• Experience leading group swim lessonsis preferred.
• Has the ability to swim as determined by passing a swim test. (Test consists of being able to complete the strokes in which you will be instructing, able to tread water for at least 2 minutes, etc.)
• Demonstrates emotional maturity and judgment.
• Must possess or obtain HCP within 90 days of employment, First Aid, Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety Assistant certification within 90 days of employment.
• Current Swim Lesson Certification (YMCA or American Red Cross) or Water Exercise Certifications (YMCA, Arthritis Foundation, etc.)
