Job summary

Uncommon Orthodontics is seeking a dependable Sterilization Technician to join our orthodontic team. You will clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments and prepare treatment areas for patients.

This role supports the clinical team across Joplin and Nevada, MO, with onsite training provided. A high school diploma and a commitment to safety are required, and you must be able to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must follow OSHA, CDC, and infection-control standards.
• Able to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments.
• Prepare instrument setups and supplies for procedures.
• Turn over and disinfect treatment chairs and clinical areas between patients.
• Monitor sterilization supplies and restock as needed.
• Follow all office safety protocols and logs.

We are willing to train the right person!Key ResponsibilitiesClean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and properly store dental instrumentsFollow all OSHA, CDC, infection-control, and office safety standardsOperate and maintain sterilization equipment according to manufacturer guidelinesComplete required sterilization logs, testing, and documentationPrepare instrument setups and supplies for scheduled proceduresTurn over and disinfect treatment chairs and clinical areas between patientsMonitor sterilization supplies and communicate restocking needsKeep the sterilization area clean, organized, and fully functionalAssist with laundry, supply organization, and general clinical supportHelp maintain smooth patient flow by anticipating the clinical team’s needsWear required personal protective equipment and follow all office protocolsSupport orthodontic assistants and other team members as neededTravel between the Joplin and Nevada, MO clinics will be required.Adapts to shifting practice priorities by handling additional responsibilities as requested by the Practice Manager.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safetyDependable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentPositive attitude and willingness to learnStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently while contributing to a teamAbility to stand for extended periods of timeWhat We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate takes pride in doing things correctly, notices what needs to be done, and enjoys supporting others.
