Job summary

NC Pediatric Dentistry seeks an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to join our pediatric dental team. You will assist orthodontists, maintain sterile treatment areas, educate patients, and ensure accurate documentation in Dentrix or Eaglesoft while upholding HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Orthodontic Assistant preferred.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures, especially in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
• Knowledge of infection control practices in a clinical setting is essential.
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with patients of all ages.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including braces placement and adjustments.
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring instruments are sterile and ready for use.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care for orthodontic appliances.
• Take medical imaging as required, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
• Maintain patient records using dental software, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and patient experiences.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering dental supplies.
