Job summary

Desort in Columbus, GA is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care. You will assist chairside, prepare treatment rooms, take radiographs, and help with infection control and documentation.

Ideal candidates have a dental assisting program or equivalent experience, CPR and X-ray certs, and strong communication skills to ensure a positive patient experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Dental Assisting program or at least 1 year of Dental Assistant experience.
• Current Dental Assisting Permit and X-ray certification for chairside duties.
• CPR certification and HIPAA/patient privacy understanding.
• Strong communication and attention to detail in a clinical setting.
• Valid driver's license if required for business-related driving.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during a variety of orthodontic procedures
• Prepare and set up treatment rooms and equipment
• Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment
• Take dental impressions, digital scans, radiographs, and orthodontic records
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control procedures
• Maintain patient records and coordinate lab cases
• Support efficient patient flow and clinical operations
• Communicate with patients and team members
• Provide patient instructions about oral hygiene and braces
• Ensure a positive, professional patient experience
