Job summary

Children's Dental Center of New Hampshire is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant in Amherst, New Hampshire to support our clinical team with high-quality patient care in a collaborative, team-based environment.

As a Dental Assistant you will prep treatment rooms, assist dentists, take X-rays, educate patients, and help maintain records. This part-time position offers a Monday-Friday window, competitive pay, and benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or 1 year of experience.
  • X-Ray certification preferred.
  • Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) preferred.
  • Nitrous Oxide certification highly recommended.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
  • Help dentist manage emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency directory.

Position Overview:As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Qualifications
  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program OR 1 year of experienece
  • X-Ray certification Preferred
  • Certified Orthodontic Assistant - Preferred
  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
