Job summary

Oak Tree Pediatric Dentistry in Greenville, SC is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant. You will support clinicians in delivering compassionate, high-quality orthodontic care to children and families, and you’ll educate patients on oral hygiene while maintaining a friendly, kid-centered environment.

The role requires at least one year of orthodontic experience, radiology certification, CPR certification, and strong communication with parents.

Qualifications

• Orthodontic experience is required or preferred for this role.
• Certification in radiology must be current and valid.
• CPR certification is required for patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric, child-friendly environment.
• Explain what to expect to parents/guardians and address concerns.
• Obtain all x-rays in the best quality possible.
• Maintain accurate clinical notes for each visit.
• Assist doctor with cementation of bands and bracket placement.
• Remove/place wires, ties, and power chains as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for performing clinical and non-clinical duties to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high quality standard of care for patients. A successful Ortho Assistant exhibits an efficient, knowledgeable, and positive countenance for every patient experience.

• Must be able to work in a pediatric, child friendly environment
• Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns
• Obtaining all x-rays necessary in the best quality possible
• Maintaining accurate clinical notes of each visit
• Assists doctor with cementation of bands and bracket placement.
• Removes and places wires, ties, power chains/thread
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of orthodontic experience
• Radiology Certification
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification
• Bi-Lingual is a plus
