Qualifications

• Experience in an orthodontic setting is preferred.
• X-ray certification is required by DANB.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric, child-friendly orthodontic environment.
• Review hygiene charts, visit rationale, medical history, and x-ray needs.
• Verify patient information with parent/guardian per HIPAA.
• Ensure consent for treatment from parent/guardian.
• Explain what to expect during visits and address concerns.
• Chart existing/missing teeth, restorations, and procedures.
• Obtain necessary x-rays of high quality.
• Maintain accurate clinical notes for each visit.
• Clean and sterilize instruments per OSHA and company standards (Statim/autoclave).

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work in a pediatric, child-friendly environment
• Review all hygiene patient charts including; reason and necessity of visit, medical history, and x-ray requirement
• Verify patient information with parent or guardian, according to HIPAA privacy standards
• Verify the patient has consent for treatment from parent or guardian
• Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns
• Charting all existing/missing teeth, existing restorations, and/or dental procedures
• Obtaining all x-rays necessary in the best quality possible
• Maintaining accurate clinical notes of each visit
• Clean and sterilize all instruments following OSHA and company standards. This includes; scrubbing instruments, packing the instruments and processing them through the statim or autoclave sterilizer

Qualifications

• Previous orthodontics experience
• DANB X-Ray certification
• Warm, friendly, courteous, and enjoys working with children
• Punctual, responsible, and a fast learner
• Ability to multitask is critical
• Be receptive to training and coaching on best practices
