Smiles by Nikki Orthodontics in Augusta is hiring an Orthodontic Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is reliable, clinically skilled, and enjoys working with patients of all ages. Responsibilities include chairside assistance, preparing operatories, and capturing records.

Candidates should have prior dental assisting experience, orthodontic experience preferred, and Georgia radiology certification preferred. CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a dental assistant, preferably in orthodontics.
• Orthodontic experience strongly preferred.
• Georgia radiology certification preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization and OSHA infection-control requirements.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsabilités

• Chairside assistance for bondings, debondings, adjustments, and appliance deliveries.
• Seat patients and prepare operatories, instruments, and materials.
• Capture diagnostic records (intraoral photos, scans, impressions, radiographs).
• Place and remove archwires, elastomeric ties, power chains, and other components.
• Educate patients and parents on appliance care and treatment compliance.
• Enter complete clinical documentation on the same day services are rendered.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection-control protocols.
• Maintain clean, stocked, organized clinical areas.
• Coordinate with orthodontist, clinical team, and front desk to keep the schedule running smoothly.

Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance for bondings, debondings, adjustments, appliance deliveries, and related clinical procedures Seat patients and prepare operatories, instruments, and materials ahead of each appointment Capture diagnostic records including intraoral photographs, digital scans, impressions, and radiographs Place and remove archwires, elastomeric ties, power chains, and other components within the assistant scope of practice under Georgia law Educate patients and parents on appliance care, elastic wear, oral hygiene, and treatment compliance Enter complete and accurate clinical documentation into the patient record the same day services are rendered Carry out instrument sterilization and follow all infection-control protocols Maintain clean, stocked, and organized clinical areas throughout the day Track supply levels and use materials responsibly Coordinate with the orthodontist, clinical team, and front desk to keep the schedule running smoothly

Qualifications:
