Job summary

Bright Healthy Smiles Orthodontics in New York, NY is seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our fast-paced team. You will work closely with doctors and the clinical team to deliver outstanding patient experiences, assist in procedures, manage rooms and instruments, and ensure top infection-control standards.

The ideal candidate has orthodontic experience and excellent communication skills, with a professional appearance and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

  • Orthodontic experience required or preferred.
  • Certification as Dental Assistant is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills expected.

Responsibilities

  • Assist orthodontist during clinical procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and instruments.
  • Take digital radiographs, photographs, and impressions/scans.
  • Assist with bonding, debonding, wire changes, bracket placement and appliance adjustments.
  • Provide patients with oral hygiene and appliance care instructions.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.
  • Keep operatories stocked and organized.
  • Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to maintain schedule.
  • Create a welcoming experience for patients and families.

What You'll Do

As an Orthodontic Assistant, you'll work alongside our doctors and clinical team to create an outstanding patient experience by:

  • Assisting the orthodontist during clinical procedures
  • Preparing treatment rooms and instruments
  • Taking digital radiographs, photographs, and impressions/scans
  • Assisting with bonding, debonding, wire changes, bracket placement, and appliance adjustments
  • Providing patients with oral hygiene and appliance care instructions
  • Sterilizing instruments and maintaining OSHA and infection control standards
  • Ensuring operatories are fully stocked and organized
  • Creating a welcoming, positive experience for every patient and family
  • Working collaboratively with the front office and clinical teams to keep the schedule running efficiently
