Job summary

All About Orthodontics in Warren and Southgate, Michigan is seeking a motivated Orthodontic Assistant to join our friendly team. You’ll support the orthodontist during bonding, banding, archwire changes, and appliance placement, while taking digital X-rays and intraoral photos.

You’ll educate patients and families, prep treatment rooms, maintain a clean, organized clinic per OSHA standards, and document care in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Previous orthodontic assisting preferred; dental assisting experience considered.
• Dental radiography certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with children and adults in a positive environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during bonding, banding, archwire changes, and appliance placement.
• Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photographs; impressions or digital scans.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain OSHA-compliant environments.
• Educate patients and parents on treatment, oral hygiene, and appliance care.
• Assist with clear aligner treatment and retainer delivery.
• Document patient treatment and progress in the EHR.
• Deliver friendly, welcoming customer service and enhance patient experience.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to ensure efficient patient flow.
