Job summary

Community Dental Partners seeks a Traveling Orthodontic Assistant to support doctors during treatment exams and perform duties of a Registered Dental Assistant. You will greet patients, assist at the chair, take x-rays and photos, handle sterilization, and provide oral hygiene instructions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and knowledge of dental terminology, with OSHA familiarity and prior direct patient contact experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures.
• Familiar with Sterilization and OSHA guidelines.
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred.
• Previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care.
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair during treatment.
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays and oral photographs.
• Removal and placement of arch wires and brackets.
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments and charting.
• Provide patient education and oral hygiene instructions.

Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling

Position Overview

The Orthodontic Assistant will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions. RDAs are responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients
• Excellent communication skills
• Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps
• Removal and placement of arch wires
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding
• Accurate computer charting
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments
• Responsible for oral hygiene instructions
• Placement and removal of brackets
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays as well as oral photographs
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
• Familiar with Sterilization
• Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
• Previous experience required
