Job summary

Community Dental Partners is seeking a Traveling Orthodontic Assistant in the Texas area. The role supports doctors during treatment, greets patients, and handles chair-side assistance, arch wires, bonding prep, x-ray imaging, and lab tasks.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterilization, accurate charting, and providing quality customer service. Travel stipend may be offered; schedule is Mon-Fri with one Saturday per month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
• Familiar with sterilization and OSHA guidelines.
• Previous experience preferred and required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care.
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair during treatment.
• Place and remove braces components and wire segments as needed.
• Take and review panoramic and cephalometric x-rays and photographs.
• Undertake lab tasks and maintain sterilization of equipment.

Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Orthodontic Assistant will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions. RDAs are responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.

This position will be responsible for and do the following:

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients
• Excellent communication skills
• Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps
• Removal and placement of arch wires
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding
• Accurate computer charting
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments
• Responsible for oral hygiene instructions
• Placement and removal of brackets
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays as well as oral photographs
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
• Familiar with Sterilization
• Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
• Previous experience required
