Job summary

Community Dental Partners is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to provide traveling support to doctors during treatment exams and to perform all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while maintaining high patient care and professionalism across multiple sites.

The role requires hands-on chairside assistance, x-ray taking, sterilization, and accurate charting, with travel to designated clinics. Prior patient-facing experience and a valid RDA credential are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures.
• Familiar with Sterilization.
• Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures.
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care.
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair during treatment.
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays as well as oral photographs.
• Placement and removal of brackets.
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding.
• Accurate computer charting.
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments.
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed.

Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Orthodontic Assistant will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions. RDAs are responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.

This position will be responsible for and do the following:

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients
• Excellent communication skills
• Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps
• Removal and placement of arch wires
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding
• Accurate computer charting
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments
• Responsible for oral hygiene instructions
• Placement and removal of brackets
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays as well as oral photographs
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
• Familiar with Sterilization
• Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
• Previous experience required
