Job summary

Safari Dental (K&N Dental) is seeking a traveling Orthodontic Assistant to support doctors during exams and chairside treatment. You will perform duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while ensuring quality patient care and professionalism with staff and patients.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting at the chair, charting, taking x-rays, sterilizing equipment, and performing lab tasks as instructed.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures.
• Familiar with Sterilization and OSHA guidelines.
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred.
• Previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care.
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair during treatment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for next steps.
• Placement and removal of brackets.
• Removal and placement of arch wires.
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding.
• Accurate computer charting.
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments.
• Oral hygiene instructions.
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays; take oral photographs.
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed.

Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Orthodontic Assistant will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions. RDAs are responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.

This position will be responsible for and do the following:

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients
• Excellent communication skills
• Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps
• Removal and placement of arch wires
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding
• Accurate computer charting
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments
• Responsible for oral hygiene instructions
• Placement and removal of brackets

• Undertake lab tasks as instructed

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
