Job summary

Community Dental Partners is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling to support doctors during treatment exams and related duties. RDAs perform all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while delivering quality service and maintaining a professional attitude with patients and co-workers.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting the orthodontist, arch wires, x-rays, sterilization, lab tasks, and related duties. Travel stipend provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Familiar with sterilization and OSHA guidelines
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact required

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair during treatment
• Maintain accurate charting and handle lab tasks as instructed
• Prepare materials and ensure sterilization of chairs and instruments
• Take and assist with x-rays and photos when needed
• Provide quality customer service with a positive attitude

Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Orthodontic Assistant will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions. RDAs are responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.

This position will be responsible for and do the following

• Greet and prepare patients for dental care
• Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients
• Excellent communication skills
• Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps
• Removal and placement of arch wires
• Tooth preparation prior to bonding
• Accurate computer charting
• Sterilization of chairs and instruments
• Responsible for oral hygiene instructions
• Placement and removal of brackets
• Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays as well as oral photographs
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
• Familiar with Sterilization
• Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures
• Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
• Previous experience required
