Job summary

DAVID J LI DDS MS INC in San Diego, CA seeks a motivated Orthodontic Assistant to support two office locations (Rancho Bernardo and University City). You will travel between offices two days per week and assist chairside with orthodontic procedures while ensuring patient comfort and care.

Responsibilities include sterilization, imaging, patient education, and maintaining records. Prior orthodontic/dental experience and relevant licenses are preferred, with certification as OA/DA/RDA advantageous.

Qualifications

• Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience strongly preferred.
• OA, DA or RDA license (California preferred).
• Familiarity with orthodontic procedures, terminology and equipment.
• Radiation Safety certification or willingness to obtain.
• Proficient with dental practice management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during bonding, banding, and wire adjustments.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, organized treatment area.
• Take and process dental X-rays, photographs, and impressions/digital scans.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment progress.
• Update patient records and treatment documentation.
• Assist with fabrication and delivery of retainers and other appliances.

Our office is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing dental team in San Diego, CA. Requirements:

• Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience strongly preferred
• Orthdontic Assistant certification (OA), Dental Assistant certification (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license (California preferred)
• Familiarity with orthodontic procedures, terminology, and equipment
• Radiation Safety certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, patient-centered chairside manner
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Proficiency with dental practice management software is a plus
