Job summary

WERTZ ORTHODONTICS is seeking an energetic Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. You will support our orthodontist with chairside procedures, patient education, and accurate clinical records in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has orthodontic assisting experience or dental assisting background, with proficiency in digital X-rays, iTero scans, and orthodontic software. Training is available for the right fit, and Fridays off with a 30–32 hour week option is considered full-time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of orthodontic assistant experience preferred (will train the right candidate).
• Minimum 3 years of dental assistant experience.
• Active X-ray certification and/or CDA credentials are a plus.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of Ortho2 Edge software and iTero scanning is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assisting: bondings, adjustments, bracket placement, and debonding with four-handed dentistry.
• Greet patients, prepare them for treatment, and ensure comfort during appointments.
• Capture high-quality digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and digital scans.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatory rooms per OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Fabricate retainers, pour/trim models, and change wires as needed.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and appliance care.
