Job summary

Bright Healthy Smiles Orthodontics in New York is seeking a professional, energetic Orthodontic Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced setting and delivers outstanding patient care. You will assist the orthodontist, prepare rooms, take digital radiographs and impressions, and help with bonding and adjustments.

You’ll sterilize instruments, maintain OSHA standards, and ensure the schedule runs smoothly while collaborating with teams.

Qualifications

• Orthodontic experience is required or desirable.
• Dental Assistant certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Professional, polished appearance and customer service mindset.
• Reliable, punctual and a team player with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments.
• Take digital radiographs, photographs, and impressions/scans.
• Assist with bonding, debonding, wire changes, bracket placement, and appliance adjustments.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene and appliance care instructions.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain OSHA and infection control standards.
• Keep operatories stocked and organized.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for patients and families.
• Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to keep the schedule running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Assisting the orthodontist during clinical procedures

• Taking digital radiographs, photographs, and impressions/scans
• Assisting with bonding, debonding, wire changes, bracket placement, and appliance adjustments
• Providing patients with oral hygiene and appliance care instructions
• Sterilizing instruments and maintaining OSHA and infection control standards
• Ensuring operatories are fully stocked and organized
• Creating a welcoming, positive experience for every patient and family
• Working collaboratively with the front office and clinical teams to keep the schedule running efficiently
