Job summary

Gorman & Bunch Orthodontics in Indiana is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to support our doctor team. You will work chairside with patients, take X-rays and photos, fabricate retainers, maintain charts, and ensure rooms, instruments, and sterilization are kept at a professional standard.

This full-time, day-shift role includes a benefits package with medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, and a bonus opportunity. A High School Diploma and 1–2 years orthodontic experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years orthodontic experience required.
  • Knowledge of orthodontics and associated appliances and equipment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and protect patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a trusting rapport with patients, ensuring the highest level of patient customer service.
  • Educate the patients on orthodontic care and treatment practices.
  • Work chairside with patient care including assisting in placing and removing orthodontic appliances.
  • Taking X-Rays, pictures, fabricating retainers.
  • Maintain patients’ charts and transcribe the doctor notes accurately.
  • Keep patient rooms stocked and organized as well as clean, sterilize, and prepare the equipment.
  • Be receptive to coaching and training from doctors to better develop skillset.
  • Other duties as required.

Job description

The Orthodontic Assistant is a pivotal role to Gorman and Bunch Orthodontics and serves as the primary supporting person to our doctor team. This role will assist with various activities in working with the doctors and patients alike and will strive to be a positive, friendly, and professional addition to the team. This position is for Day shift, Full-Time W/ Benefits Averaging 32-36 hours, Monday through Thursdays, with occasional half day coverage on Fridays.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
