Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a dentist/orthodontist perform medical and administrative tasks to provide support to patients and dental services staff.

  • Assist with performing assessments and treatments.
  • Perform diagnostic radiographs. Obtain alginate impressions for diagnostic and/or intra-oral appliances.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration; also assemble, decontaminate, sort, process and maintain dental instruments utilized throughout the facility.
  • Maintain equipment and medical supplies in clean working order. Maintain examination areas in a clean, adequately stocked and organized condition.
  • Take on-call shifts when requested.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
  • Dental Assistant credentialed from the Texas Dental Assistant preferred.

Education

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
