Position Details
  • Work Shift: Day Shift
  • Time Type: Full time
  • Department: CC015060 Dental Clinic
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Summary

Assists the Orthodontist in the treatment and care of orthodontic patients, educates patients in oral hygiene, and performs patient care and laboratory duties as needed.

Qualifications
  • Required Education: Certificate from college program or technical school approved by the AR State Board of Dental Examiners
  • Required Certifications: Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) - Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners
  • Experience: Entry level, experience not required; preferred 1 year pediatric clinic experience
Responsibilities
  • Make patients comfortable, prepare them for treatment, and document dental records.
  • Assist with instrument handing, maintain dry and clear mouth conditions, and ensure equipment functionality.
  • Review and maintain dental records, review consent and medical history.
  • Prepare impression trays, perform orthodontic procedures, take x-rays, and handle sutures and other clinical tasks.
  • Perform sterilization and room disinfection.
  • Fabricate models, mouth guards, and other dental appliances.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and oral health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
