Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Orthopedic Unit on the night shift. The role involves direct patient care from admission to discharge, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and ongoing planning to achieve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN required and IL RN license or eligibility
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year for certain units
• ADN acceptable with BSN commitment within 3 years
• Ability to work nights and in a fast-paced ortho unit

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status on admission/point of care entry
• Organize health data for accurate plan of care
• Identify urgent issues and escalate promptly
• Document diagnoses and care plans for expected outcomes
• Plan discharge in collaboration with patient and team
• Provide patient and family education based on evidence-based practice
• Maintain up-to-date Plan of Care and progress notes
• Communicate with care team and patients to ensure continuity of care
