Job summary

NorthBay Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Orthopedics/Trauma team in a fast-paced hospital setting. The PA will perform inpatient rounds, evaluate orthopedic trauma patients, participate in ED and inpatient consultations, and assist in surgery as needed under physician supervision.

The role requires CA licensure (DEA for controlled substances) and NCCPA-approved PA education, with a minimum of three years of PA experience including surgical first assisting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NCCPA-approved PA program; surgical first assistant training mandatory.
• California PA licensure; current DEA license for schedule II+ or to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum 3 years of PA experience; at least 2 years as surgical first assistant.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and age-specific care skills; proficient with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Daily inpatient rounding and comprehensive patient assessments.
• Evaluate and manage orthopedic trauma patients.
• New patient and ED/inpatient consultations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with orthopedic surgeons.
