Job summary

Atrium Health's 5Main unit is a 36-bed acute care med/surg trauma unit specializing in orthopedic and multiple trauma injuries. Ortho trauma provides a strong foundation for nursing careers, with patient ratios around 1:5 and an engaged management team.

We offer growth opportunities, a learning environment, and great teamwork. A sign-on bonus is available to applicants who have not received a sign-on bonus from the company in the past 24 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice where providing services.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• BSN preferred; hospital experience in acute care welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Engages in governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, updates care plans, and collaborates with the team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ethical practice.
• Maintains accurate EHR documentation and may float to other units as needed.
• May administer medications and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork; delegates appropriately.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
