Job summary

UC Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the ortho trauma unit at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. The Day Shift is from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM on a 28-bed unit serving patients from ER, PACU, and SICU with a focus on mobility, education, and pain management.

The unit handles ortho post-op care for knee, hip, shoulder replacements and spinal surgeries. UC Medical Center is the area's only Adult Level I Trauma Center, offering advanced care and

Qualifications

• Required: ASN from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Preferred: BSN from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements.
• For employees in UC Health Psychiatric Services, NCI-APS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
• Communicates plan of care to all levels of staff and sets priorities based on assessment.
• Gives instructions to patients/family regarding treatment and involves them in care.
• Addresses behavioral health, cultural, and religious needs in care planning.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, and flexibility to meet unit needs.
• Documents nursing process accurately and per policy.
• Acts as a resource and mentor for new staff on the unit.
• Pursues personal and professional development.
