Job summary

Cincinnati Children's is seeking a day-shift, full-time Orthopaedics Center assistant to support casting, patient intake, and basic care tasks in a busy clinical environment.

You will help with casts, splints, and braces, prepare exam rooms, and assist orthopedic providers, while ensuring efficient clinic flow and a positive patient experience. Hospital standards include HIPAA compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Practice - Assist with the application and removal of basic casts, splints, and braces for orthopedic patients. Support orthopedic providers and staff by helping with routine patient care tasks, including preparing patients for their visit and helping maintain clinic flow.
• Interdepartmental Duties - Assist with casting in OR setting and support ED/Orthopedic staff as needed while maintaining sterile precautions.
• Inventory Management - Maintain casting area, check stock, and coordinate discrepancies in the pyxis system; assist with cleaning and safety checks.
• Compliance - Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (e.g., JCAHO, HIPAA).
• Customer Service - Communicate clearly with patients/families and assist in problem solving to improve patient experience.
