Job summary

Thisiscny is seeking a Sterile Supply Assistant in Syracuse, NY, full-time, within the Sterile Processing department. The role focuses on sterilizing, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and packaging orthopedic and spine surgical sets, coordinating with OR staff to ensure readiness and timely turnover.

Qualifications

• Associates and 2 years of relevant sterilizing reusable surgical sets experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Nationally accredited central service technician exam OR current certification by a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization OR evidence of employment as a Central Service Technician for a cumulative period between Jan 1, 2011 and Jan 1, 2015.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, disassemble and sterilize reusable surgical sets.
• Operate equipment for sterilization and monitor decontamination processes.
• Communicate with vendors, surgeons, circulating nurses and surgical technicians regarding preparedness for use of surgical sets.
• Recognize problems and implement corrective actions; keep teams updated on changing technology.
• Ensure complete and efficient set turnaround times and trauma readiness for ortho and spine cases.
