Job summary

Orlando Health's Elective Orthopedics & Spine Unit is a 26-bed Level I Trauma Center where the Ortho Spine RN delivers comprehensive inpatient and observation care for elective knee/hip arthroplasty and spine surgery. The role emphasizes mobility progression, pain management, and discharge readiness within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.
• Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
• 1 year experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and develops an individualized plan of care.
• Evaluates patient progress toward expected outcomes.
• Functions as a patient and family advocate.
• Communicates and collaborates with the medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
• Documents patient care in accordance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates care and delegates tasks to team members as appropriate.
