Job summary

Carle Health in Springfield, IL is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the NT4 unit. The 41-bed unit provides care for total joint replacements, trauma and related specialties with Advanced Certification for Hip and Knee Replacements.

External applicants may qualify for a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year commitment. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, documentation, wound care education, and coordination with the medical team.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire.
• RN licensed in Illinois with a nursing diploma or an associate’s degree.
• 1+ year of RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs unit-specific nursing duties on NT4.
• Performs initial patient assessment and develops care plans.
• Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care.
• Educates ortho and medical/surgical patients on wound care, mobility, self-care and medication management.
• Coordinates with physicians and surgeons for ortho and medical/surgical patients.
• Delegates and monitors interventions of HCT staff.
• Sets up ortho traction and manages wound devices such as vacs and drains.
