Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for Orthopedics on a full-time day shift at Texas Health Dallas. The role supports nursing staff with basic patient care, comfort, and mobility in a fast-paced unit.

Three 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. Requires BCLS, and various certifications or nursing study progress as hire prerequisites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• Certification via TX CNA, PCT Training Program, or THR approved program required upon hire.
• EMT-B or military medic training equivalent required upon hire.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active certification required upon hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under nursing supervision.
• Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and moving patients.
• Transfer or transport patients as needed.
• Enter orders into computer or manual system as applicable.
• Document accurately and appropriately.
• Collaborate with nurses to adapt care to patient population.
• Incorporate cultural and religious needs into care.
• Maintain a clean patient environment and safety.
• Anticipate patient and family needs and respond.
