Job summary

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of one year OR RN nursing experience required.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
• CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data systematically using appropriate assessment techniques.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the NYU Langone Health Core Values and incorporate these into responsibilities.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
• Coordinate unit activities to provide compassionate, healing patient care.
• Support the mission, philosophy, standards, and goals of the institution and nursing department.
• Differentiate professional nursing activities from tasks delegated to ancillary staff.
• Participate in Unit Practice Council and Nursing Wide Councils.
• Engage in quality improvement programs to promote satisfaction among patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Educate the patient and family to facilitate health adjustments.
• Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes.
