Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking an Orthopedic/Neurosurgery unit aide to support patient care on a 26-bed unit. The role covers joint replacement, neurosurgical, and trauma patients, with emphasis on safety, mobility, and holistic support.

You will work 12-hour shifts (morning/evening), assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, document accurately, and coordinate with licensed staff to ensure timely care and patient comfort.

Competenze

• CCHT certification is required for dialysis unit only.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; those without completed Foundations of Nursing or CNA may enter NGHS Academy.

Mansioni

• Obtains and reports basic patient physiological data like vitals.
• Provides positioning, mobility hygiene, ADL and comfort per procedure.
• Monitors intake and urine output and records on forms.
• Identifies and reports changes to licensed staff.
• Organizes patient care and follows physician/nursing orders within time frames.
• Performs therapeutic procedures and reports patient responses to nurse.
• Rounds on patients and responds to call lights promptly.
• Orients patient and family to unit and room; greets warmly.
• Explains procedures or care before starting.
• Records patient data accurately and forwards to supervisory staff.
• Proficient with IT systems to support documentation.
• Answers calls politely and relays orders to licensed staff.
• Places reports in charts and ensures reports reach appropriate units.
• Maintains safety and hygiene; follows universal precautions and PPE rules.
• Distributes linen and ice; offers refreshments as allowed.
• Prepares room for new admissions and ensures supplies are ready.
• Participates in staff meetings with limited absences.
• Reads and responds to emails timely.
• Shows flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.
