Job summary

Valley Advanced Orthodontics is seeking an enthusiastic Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support our growing team across multiple offices. You will assist the orthodontist, manage supplies, and help maintain smooth clinical operations.

Travel between Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill offices is required. Ideal candidates have orthodontic experience or strong interest, PA X-ray license, CPR, and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

Graduate of a Dental Assistant program or in final months of study.
Minimum 1 year orthodontic assisting experience or strong interest in orthodontics.
PA X-ray license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
CPR certification and OSHA/HIPAA knowledge.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Assist orthodontist during procedures and explain treatment plans.
Manage supplies, sterilize equipment, and maintain rooms.
Take records, radiographs as needed, and update treatment cards.
Travel between Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill offices as required.

Valley Advanced Orthodontics is looking for an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our vibrant, patient-focused team. We proudly serve communities across Central Pennsylvania—including Carlisle, Camp Hill, Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Enola—delivering orthodontic care in a welcoming and supportive environment where patients of all ages feel comfortable and cared for.

Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support our growing team! In this role, you'll assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures, manage supplies, and contribute to the overall success of the clinical operations. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding care.

Travel between our Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill locations is required, as this position supports multiple offices as we continue to grow.

Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday – OFF Thursday.

Essential Job Functions

Perform clinical procedures as directed by the orthodontist, including changing wires
Assist doctor in explaining treatment plan and progress
Review instructions with patient/parent
Assist doctor in fitting/delivering orthodontic appliances and all other clinical office needs
Maintain supplies and carts
Update treatment card notes for each visit
Review patient health history and update changes after seating
Radiography patients as needed
Take records (scan and load photographs)
Maintain clean treatment rooms in compliance with all CDC and OSHA regulations
Set up and turn over room efficiently
Maintain and sterilize dental equipment
Perform other duties as requested by Practice Administrator or dentists
Notify Practice Administrator in a timely manner and according to policy when out sick
Check appliances delivered to the office before appointment
