Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville is seeking a Lead/Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee the 4 West Medical Surgical Ortho Unit during night shifts. You will direct, coordinate and evaluate nursing care, mentoring staff and ensuring an exceptional patient experience aligned with our standards.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, throughput, staff development, and collaboration with the management team to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher required, or obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Licensed RN in the state of practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
• Current BLS Health Care Provider required.
• Current ACLS Health Care Provider required.
• At least 2 years hospital/acute care RN experience required.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, in collaboration with management.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to create teamwork for improved outcomes.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Operationalize nursing strategies to enhance engagement, including staff rounding and hourly rounds.
• Provide recommendations on interviewing, selection, training staff, and action plans to improve organization.
• Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor in line with patient care needs.
• Support inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
