Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for the Ortho unit to join a high-quality, patient-centered team. This full-time night-shift role requires directing nursing care, coordinating multidisciplinary staff, and maintaining service excellence in a leading acute-care hospital.

The position requires graduation from an accredited RN program, an active Florida license, BLS, and ACLS/NRP/PALS/CPI certifications as specified.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at time of hire.
• Current active Florida or Compact Nursing License.
• Minimum of one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care specialty nursing.
• One to three years of supervisory experience, preferred.
• All Nursing Units (except nursery): ACLS as of start date; Women’s Center: NRP as of start date; ICU/PCU: NIH within 90 days; ER: PALS, CPI within 90 days; PACU: PALS as of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for nursing care to patients and families.
• Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members and directs nursing staff to safe, optimal outcomes.
