Job summary

Sycamore Canyon Academy in Oracle, AZ invites applications for an ORR MEDICAL ASSISTANT. You will support medical staff, file charts, answer phones, and keep the clinic organized while supervising students receiving services.

You’ll transport students between activities, assist in documenting medical orders, and help maintain safety and welfare under supervision of the Medical Manager. Schedule is Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, based on program needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification as Medical Assistant or Nurse Assistant is required.
• For ORR programs, EMT, CNA or equivalent certifications are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an efficient and organized medical office with daily administrative duties (filing, answering phones).
• Help manage flow of students seen by medical practitioners and supervise students waiting for services.
• Transport students between program activities, the Medical Clinic, and group living areas.
• File medical documentation in student medical charts and document medical supply orders.
• Assist under supervision of Medical Manager/Coordinator while ensuring safety, health, and welfare.

Rite of Passage Team is Hiring an ORR MEDICAL ASSISTANT at Sycamore Canyon Academy in Oracle, Arizona. Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth!

What you’ll do: ORR Medical Assistant maintains an efficient and organized medical office by supporting medical staff with daily administrative duties, including filing, answering phones, and ensuring the Medical Clinic remains clean and orderly. The Medical Assistant helps maintain a consistent flow of students being seen by medical practitioners, monitors and supervises students waiting for medical services, and transports students between program activities, the Medical Clinic or Office, and group living areas. Responsibilities also include filing medical documentation in student medical charts and, under the direction of the Medical Manager or Medical Coordinator, documenting medical supply orders. The Medical Assistant ensures the safety, health, and welfare of staff and students at all times, provides encouragement, guidance, and resources as needed, and serves as a positive role model and mentor.

Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification for Medical Assistant or Nurses Assistant required.
• For ORR programs, EMT, CNA or other acceptable medical related certifications are acceptable.
• Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
• Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.
