Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Ornamental Horticulture Coordinator for the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District.

The role oversees day-to-day horticulture department operations, budgets, purchasing, equipment and events, while coordinating with nursery vendors and the college community. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, maintaining facilities such as greenhouse spaces, and promoting horticulture programs within the district.

Qualifications

• Two years college-level coursework or the equivalent with specialized training in ornamental horticulture or a related field.
• Increasingly responsible experience in ornamental horticulture.
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to qualify for district vehicle insurance coverage.
• Certificate must be obtained prior to submitting your application.

Responsibilities

• Organize, coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations and supervision of the Ornamental Horticulture Department.
• Facilitate department accounts, budgets and purchasing.
• Maintain department equipment and supplies for the ornamental horticulture programs and facilities including a greenhouse and other growing areas.
• Coordinate and organize large-scale department events and activities; oversee plant care activities.
• Liaise between the Nursery, vendors, the College and the community.
