Job summary

Dewberry in Orlando, FL is seeking a Mechanical Principal Engineer to lead and grow our MEPS practice. This senior role combines technical excellence with people leadership, mentoring staff, and delivering high-performance mechanical systems for a diverse set of projects.

Based in our Orlando office, you will guide design across facilities, supervise engineers, and partner with clients to shape project goals while upholding Dewberry's standards of quality and integrity.

Qualifications

• Licensed Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) with active state licensure.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in HVAC, central utility plant, and thermal distribution systems.
• Proven ability to develop and lead mechanical engineering teams.
• Experience supervising multiple concurrent projects and cost oversight.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship for the mechanical staff.
• Oversee design and review of complex MEPS systems.
• Set standards and best practices for mechanical engineering across offices.
• Coordinate with clients and project managers to align goals.
• Lead business development and growth strategies within the MEPS practice.
