Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Mechanical Discipline Manager in Orlando, FL. You will lead the design and specification of HVAC, central utility plant, and thermal distribution systems, guiding a team of engineers and designers.

This role interfaces with clients, supports growth strategies, and oversees project scope, fee development, and scheduling. A Florida PE and 15+ years of experience are preferred to drive high-quality mechanical engineering across the Florida practice.

Qualifications

• Licensed Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) required or in good standing
• 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience with leadership responsibilities
• Experience in HVAC design, central utility plants, and thermal distribution systems (chilled water, steam, hot water)
• Ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects and provide technical oversight
• Experience mentoring staff and engaging with clients to grow business

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and specifications for HVAC, central utility plant, and thermal distribution systems.
• Provide technical guidance and QA/QC for all mechanical deliverables.
• Develop and improve mechanical design standards and approaches.
• Oversee mechanical services to support project construction.
• Represent Dewberry in client meetings and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Assist recruiting and organize staff to support career development and efficiency.
• Schedule workload, project scope, fees, and annual evaluations for direct reports.
