New Issue IQ is seeking an Origination & Syndicate Relationships Lead in New York. You will own origination, build and run sell-side relationships, and shape the market-facing product by bringing deep market insight to the data engine that powers our credit market analytics.
You will report to the CEO, oversee hands-on outreach, and help define the roadmap while working with product and engineering. This is a senior, roll-up-your-sleeves role with potential to scale a team.
New Issue IQ unlocks opportunities in the $10 trillion credit market. Today, data in the credit market takes the form of PDFs, emails, and chatroom messages. Our custom AI models turn that fragmented information into clean, real-time reference data on every deal: the record every buy-side firm, bank, and technology platform needs to make informed investment decisions, meet compliance requirements, and spot opportunities faster than they otherwise could. Our clients are institutional: banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and the platforms that serve them.
Every deal we capture adds to a historical record of the credit market that is the foundation for everything we build on top of it.
We are AI-native and we run a software factory. Implementation is largely handed to an automated toolkit working against our coding standards, documentation, and validation logic, while the team makes the decisions and designs the system. We ship to production 10 to 20 times a day.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Own origination. You build and run the sell-side relationships that fuel our data engine and make New Issue IQ the industry leader in new-issue reference data. You are the person who originates the market's data from the sell side.
Be the voice of the market. You develop a genuine, day-in-the-life understanding of how syndicate, DCM, and credit sales professionals work, and you turn that insight into how we productize the relationship—what data we capture, how we deliver it, and where we go deeper. You are the market's voice inside the building, making sure the product reflects how the desk actually works.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you understand the sell-side world better than anyone in the building, and you turn that understanding into both coverage and product. This is a senior, roll‑up-your‑sleeves role: you help shape the roadmap and you do the hands‑on work, relationship‑building and product alike, to deliver it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and maintain the sell-side relationships that expand and protect our coverage across the fixed‑income new‑issue market
Set coverage benchmarks and systematically close known gaps, including harder‑to‑reach corners of the market
Own the origination strategy: decide which asset classes, regions, and desks we prioritize, and translate coverage gaps into a measurable plan
Develop a deep understanding of how syndicate, DCM, and credit sales professionals actually spend their time, and turn it into how we productize the relationship — validating demand before it hits the roadmap
Partner with product and engineering to turn sourcing realities and validated demand into what we build
Report coverage and sourcing progress to the CEO, and use data completeness as a differentiator for pricing, GTM, and the investor story
Serve as a face of New Issue IQ in the DCM, syndicate, and credit sales community; over time, build and lead a team as coverage scales
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
An existing network into bank syndicate, DCM, and credit sales desks, built through a syndicate, origination, sell-side, or new‑issue market‑data role. Relationships, market fluency, and hustle matter more than a specific title
A relationship‑first operator who can own a strategy and also do the hands‑on outreach; this is an individual‑contributor role first, management second
Scrappy and technical enough to work with modern AI tools; you don't need to be an engineer, but you should be competent with them and eager to learn
A genuine product‑discovery instinct: real curiosity about how the market works, and the judgment to tell polite interest from validated demand
Comfort with high‑volume relationship outreach and the reality that distribution is manual, desk‑by‑desk, and driven entirely by relationships
Deep understanding of the new‑issue lifecycle (IPTs, guidance, revised, launched, allocated, priced) and the surrounding data ecosystem
Self‑directed and comfortable owning an ambiguous mandate end to end in a fast‑moving startup
Nice to have: non‑USD coverage (Swiss franc, Nordics) or APAC reach
BENEFITS
Compensation commensurate with a senior role at an early‑stage company
Competitive equity grant aligned with the role
The chance to join a high‑performing team at an early stage
