This role supports the origination and development of strategic clean energy projects by preparing and coordinating RFP responses, managing deadlines, gathering information from stakeholders, and contributing to commercial and origination efforts. The position is highly collaborative and cross-functional, working closely with development, finance, legal, execution, and asset management teams to advance projects that drive clean energy growth.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor wholesale power markets, renewable energy markets, utility integrated resource plans (IRPs), regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in key energy markets such as WECC, PJM, MISO, and the Southeast.

  • Source and evaluate RFPs and other bilateral opportunities for the project portfolio, including utility, corporate, and data center offtake arrangements.

  • Prepare and coordinate RFP submissions by organizing bid materials, tracking deadlines, and compiling all required documentation for utility-facing and other procurement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in development, finance, legal, execution, and asset management, as well as external partners, to move projects efficiently through the origination pipeline.

  • Maintain accurate records of project opportunities, submissions, and commercial activity to support consistent pipeline tracking and reporting processes.

  • Assist in preparing presentations, proposals, and other commercial materials for customers and counterparties to support engagement and deal advancement.

  • Support negotiations of customer agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), in coordination with internal commercial and legal teams.

  • Perform market and commercial analysis by monitoring price comparables from executed PPAs and other market intelligence sources to identify and prioritize market opportunities.

  • Coordinate submissions and manage key milestones to ensure all RFP responses and related deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.

  • Gather and synthesize information from diverse stakeholders to produce clear, accurate, and compelling bid and proposal materials.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of origination processes, tools, and reporting to enhance efficiency and transparency across the pipeline.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by stepping in to support activities beyond core responsibilities when needed in a fast-paced, startup-like team environment.

  • 5+ years of direct experience managing or coordinating RFP processes with utility companies.

  • Proven experience supporting utility procurement opportunities, including utility-facing submissions.

  • Strong understanding of utility RFP submissions and requirements, including documentation, compliance, and timeline management.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent RFPs, deadlines, and stakeholder inputs.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in tracking submissions, maintaining records, and preparing bid materials.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including development, finance, legal, execution, and asset management.

  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating market information, price comparables, and commercial terms.

  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing proposals, presentations, and customer-facing materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed energy projects, particularly front-of-the-meter assets.

  • Background in solar project development or origination.

  • Experience with energy storage projects and related commercial structures.

  • Exposure to energy generation assets such as solar, storage, natural gas, or other generation technologies.

  • Salesforce experience for managing pipeline, opportunities, and reporting.

  • Advanced Excel skills for market analysis, pricing models, and commercial evaluations.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment within a larger organization.

  • Willingness to go beyond the formal job description and support broader team needs when required.

  • Adaptability to work with different project types and markets as long as the RFP and utility procurement process is well understood.
