Flagship Pioneering in Cambridge, MA seeks a Senior Associate to originate and build science-based companies within the Agriculture and Sustainability portfolio. You will design venture hypotheses, run rapid experiments, and translate ideas into new ventures, collaborating with Partners and cross-functional teams.

You will lead workstreams, mentor early team members, and shape IP strategy while advancing foundational science and commercialization plans to drive growth and impact.

Qualifications

• PhD from a top university with expertise in plant biology, plant pathology, plant physiology, biochemistry or genetics and preferably startup/entrepreneurial activities.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience beyond doctoral training or equivalent.
• Operationally savvy with passion for novel science.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to and lead explorations to assess areas of science and develop venture hypotheses.
• Outline key scientific questions and develop experimental plans to create value.
• Identify and engage academic experts and de-risk key concepts.
