Foundation for Blind Children in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide center-based and outreach O&M services within the Adult Comprehensive Day Program. The role involves helping clients travel independently in various settings including college, community, and transportation hubs.

Responsibilities include direct and consultative services, team liaison, and maintaining documentation.

Qualificações

• Requires Master’s degree (preferred) or Baccalaureate in Orientation and Mobility from an accredited institution.
• Must maintain all licenses and certifications as a condition of continued employment.
• Must have or be eligible for ACVREP certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
• Must have Level IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.

Responsabilidades

• Provide O&M services for clients in the Adult Comprehensive Day Program including college or university and employment sites.
• Provide consultation/direct services for clients and family members as requested.
• Evaluate referrals to determine current skill levels and recommend appropriate O&M services.
• Teach concepts of O&M, including low vision, orientation, and mobility skills to maximize independence.
• Serve as liaison with the client’s team, Valley Metro, and family members; provide education on blindness and ADA certifications.
• Maintain case records, reports, and other administrative tasks.
