Job summary

OpenRouter, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Ori team and build client-side products for enterprise adoption. You will work with a small team led by a co-founder, delivering a hands-on IC role with minimal process and real ownership.

You will ship across Ori surfaces—from CLI to cloud—ensuring reliability, security, and a great first-time experience for customers. As part of a tight-knit team, you’ll tackle complex agent-runtime challenges and help extend OpenRouter’s API/SDKs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production software with ownership of developer tools or infrastructure.
• Experience with CLIs and agent-based products.
• Strong understanding of tool calls, context management, and evals.
• Knowledge of sandboxing, secrets, and reliability across many users.
• High agency with bias toward action and user-focused prototyping.
• Experience with developer tools and UX for first-five-minutes.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship across Ori surfaces: the ori CLI and its harness integrations.
• Make model fungibility real with provider fallbacks and per-model settings.
• Develop the agent runtime, including sandboxing, secrets management, and skills.
• Deploy, fork and shut down agents in the cloud with version-controlled state.
• Own end-to-end quality: install, auth, CLI UX, reliability and observability.
• Feed gaps back into OpenRouter's API and SDKs for multi-model agents.
