Job summary

OpenRouter is hiring a Software Engineer for Ori, to build the client side products that let enterprises run any model from your terminal, Slack, or desktop. You’ll join a small team led by a co-founder, working closely with product, design, and platform teams on a hands-on IC role with broad surface area.

You will own end-to-end quality—from install and auth to reliability, observability, and evals—and help push OpenRouter’s API and SDKs to enable multi-model agents across the ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production software with ownership of developer tools or APIs.
• Fluent in building CLIs and agent-related developer tooling.
• Deep understanding of agents, tool calling, context management, and model tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship across Ori surfaces: the cli and its harness integrations.
• Make model fungibility real in any harness with safe provider fallbacks and per-model tunings.
• Develop the agent runtime, including sandboxed agents, secrets management, and auditability.
• Deploy, fork, and manage agents from laptop to cloud with versioned state.
• Own end-to-end quality from install and auth to reliability and observability.
